How it works.
Unique pairs, same-species pairs, and self-breed-only pals come from the 1.0 combination table. Everything else uses the breeding-rank formula: child rank = ⌊(A + B + 1) ÷ 2⌋ → nearest standard pal. On a tie between two equally-close pals, the higher-rank pal is favored, and tie results are flagged in the answer. If the game gives you a different child, trust the game.
